Rachael Ray good, Malcolm Gladwell bad. Yawn.
(Updated: The first link is to a reprint. I thought I had read that article before. Hm. Have you seen RayRay's talk show? Her enthusiam may be infectious, but my immune system can easily fight off that kind of thing.)

OK then. Since I'm already anti-Gladwell I'd better just scratch that post pro-Rachel Ray and her surrogate motherhood and her less strictly gendered audience.
Oh, I hope you don't scratch it.
RR's audience seemed awfully female when I caught the talk show, but I think the Food Network shows draw men, you know, FHM readers and the like. (She also has a cookbook just for feeding dudes called Guy Food.) I think I know what you mean, though, esp. when comparing her with Martha.
(Also: her Wikipedia entry comes off sounding tongue-in-cheek.)
I don't have enough energy to deal with Rachael Ray. I'm serious--I'm already fatigued and she just makes me stare slackjawed at the television.
Not to mention that if you're in a city to eat good food? You should have been thinking about the bill ages ago.
